Lovely Lime Wood

We're a bit behind with some of the foreign magazines so I just found the September/October issue of Australian Vogue Living on the newsstand yesterday.  I am begging them to offer an online subscription to their fabulous magazine because they always feature the the most amazing interiors.  I immediately fell in love with the Lime Wood Hotel that was designed by British designer David Collins.  His use of color is unsurpassed.  The pale greens and lavenders remind me of Laduree macaroons but yet there is nothing sweet or sugary about the rooms.  They are elegant yet comfortable which is important for a hotel.  I am already thinking of booking a trip so I can enjoy them in person!

David Collins at Home

I happened to pick up the December issue of Spanish AD this week and was left swooning over the London apartment of designer David Collins. Of course, I can't read a word of Spanish so I can't help you with any of the details but I think the photos speak for themselves. Mr. Collins has locked his online portfolio so I scanned in the article and also found some other photos online elsewhere. You can see the difference styling and finishing touches can make to a space. I love how the beige chairs above look reupholstered in two new fabrics below. The hints of lilac in the blue room also look amazing! I think it might be my new favorite color combination! Too bad we can't see what else David Collins has been up to online! I bet it's just as fabulous!

Habitually Chic Designer: David Collins

David Collins is turning into one of my favorite designers. His commercial work consists of many hotels, bar and restaurants that all have unique and interesting features but never go over the top and his residential work seems to have a quiet elegance. But one of David's hallmarks seems to be his beautiful use of color. I could pour over his portfolio on his website all day just looking at all the amazing details in his work. He is definitely someone who I find inspiring and I hope you do too!
