Happy Holidays from Habitually Chic!

I always buy cards from R. Nichols since they perfectly reflect my life in New York especially at the holidays.  This Christmas Taxi card is the one I sent out this year and for those of you whose address I do not know, please accept this virtual holiday greeting.  I hope you and your yours have a wonderful Christmas!  Thank you again for your continued support and encouragement!  XOXO, Habitually Chic

Over the river and through the woods...

I'm off to Pennsylvania for the holiday! I will try to write a few posts while I'm away so check back later. Until then, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Oh, and try to pretend that's me in the car and not some strange guy. If my PhotoShop skills were a little better I would have tried to paste my head over his but you get the idea!

Kindred Spirit Christmas!

Alaina of Live Creating Yourself was sweet enough to ask me to participate in her Kindred Spirtits Countdown to Christmas and today you can read my answers to her fun questions! You can also find out who owns that fancy white Christmas tree below! Merry Christmas!

Have a Witty Holiday!

Call me old fashioned but I usually like to digest my turkey and pumpkin pie before I can even start to think about Christmas. But since the holiday windows in New York are starting to be unveiled, I figure I have to get over it and start posting them! Simon Doonan, the Creative Director of Barneys is wishing everyone a witty holiday to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Saturday Night Live. The Coneheads window is my personal favorite!

"I can't wait for this recession to be over - it's such a drag. I'm not one of those people who thinks it's brought us to our higher level of consciousness. I just think it's a colossal bore. But boom times or bad times, my job is to create desire." - Simon Doonan in Departures

Christmas Time is Here

Yesterday, it was 65 degrees in New York. Right now, it's 30 degrees and snowing! Crazy! I really wanted to go out and take some photos of the city covered in snow but then I decided to stay in my warm and cozy apartment, watch A Charlie Brown Christmas and write out my Christmas cards. I remember watching Charlie Brown and the gang every year growing up and it brings back lovely memories. For some reason, Lucy was always my favorite. She was like the original Blair Waldorf and always made me laugh. And needless to say that the music is also a favorite. The snow in the city definitely signifies that Christmas time really is here!

Christmas time is here,
Happiness and cheer,
Fun for all that children call,
Their favorite time of the year.

Snowflakes in the air,
Carols everywhere,
Olden times and ancient rhymes,
Of love and dreams to share.

Sleigh bells in the air,
Beauty everywhere,
Yuletide by the fireside,
And joyful memories there.

Christmas time is here,
We'll be drawing near,
Oh, that we could always see,
Such spirit through the year,
Oh, that we could always see,
Such spirit through the year...
