Thanks Barneys!

I can't walk down Madison Avenue without popping into Barneys for a little shopping or sometimes just inspiration.  So, I was extremely honored to be interviewed for their Barneys: The Window blog.  You can read my thoughts on design and fashion as well as what I would would be wearing in the morning if I was locked in Barneys overnight.  Thanks Barneys!

Thanks Telegraph!

Most of the time, my Google Alerts don't actually alert but today I am very happy that they did work.  Otherwise, I would not have known that The Telegraph named Habitually Chic one of The 20 Best Interiors BlogsI'm extremely honored to be included with Apartment Therapy, Lonny, and The Selby among others. I also absolutely love their description of my blog...
"'Glamorous Lives & Stylish Places’ is the tagline to this utterly compelling blog from a New York interior designer, a woman of unashamedly uptown taste, both modern, slightly Mad Men uptown and the more traditional. She’ll post photos of everything from the late Jackie O’s swag-tastic Fifth Avenue apartment to her own well-stocked dressing-room. Yes, it’s that fabulous."
I'm going to refer to myself as "unashamedly uptown" from this moment forth! Thanks Telegraph!

Since The Telegraph is based in the UK, I figured why not post my all time favorite photo from British interior designer Veere Grenney.

Thanks Ivy & Piper!

I want to thank the new Australian online magazine Ivy & Piper for including me on their Beautiful blog roll.  I am especially honored to be in the company of interior designer and blogger Anna Spiro.  Her blog Absolutely Beautiful Things was one of the first design blogs that I read and it definitely inspired me to create my own.  Thanks ladies!

Thanks Fox News!

I want to thank FoxNews.com for naming Habitually Chic one of the Top 10 Design Blogs of 2010!  I'm honored to be in such great company!

Premier Issue of Rue Debuts!

The new online magazine Rue has debuted today and I am very excited to be featured in its pages.  The co-founders, Anne Sage of The City Sage and Crystal Gentilello of Plush Palate have put together a superb premier issue and I'm honored that they asked to include my work.  You can check out the spread on my bachelorette pad project in the magazine now (starting on page 44) and next week, I will be posting a complete before and after look at the apartment.  Thanks ladies!

Thank You Elle Decor!

The October 2010 issue of Elle Decor is one of their best ever and I'm not just saying that because I'm in it! I want to thank Elle Decor for including my quote about luxury at home in the issue. I am especially humbled to be included with Allegra Hicks, Schuyler Samperton, China Chow, Ralph Rucci, and John Oetgen!  Especially, because I'm sure all the rest of them are wondering who the heck I am! Thank you Elle Decor!

Thank you Canadian House & Home!

I've been reading Canadian House & Home for over a year and can't get enough.  It's filled the void left by Domino and always features unique and interesting interiors.  So, I was beyond honored when they asked to interview for the October 2010 issue!  My issue hasn't arrived yet but it has already come out in Canada.  I can't believe all the sweet emails and Twitter messages I have received from my Canadian readers.  All of your support and encouragement warms my heart and definitely keeps me motivated to keep blogging.  If your issue hasn't arrived yet, you can click on the photos here to enlarge them in order to read the article .  You can also subscribe to the digital version which I highly recommend.  Thanks again Canadian House & Home

Inspiring Interiors

I just returned from LA last night and am in the process of downloading all my photos of the wonderful places I visited and people I met. Until those posts are ready, I'm directing you to a photo gallery of my favorite inspiring interiors at Canadian House & Home. I was very honored to be included in their fabulous blogger series! I hope you enjoy these rooms as much as I do!

The Inside Source: High vs. Low

I was honored to once again be asked by The Inside Source to give my advice on where to splurge and where to save when decorating. This topic was right up my alley since I often mix expensive pieces with eBay and flea market finds in my work. My choices also illustrate my other love of juxtaposing modern pieces like the 1970's abstract painting, which reminded me of a Rothko, with an antique French chest of drawers. I would definitely hang the painting above, add a lamp and turn the piece into a bar!

Make sure you check out the entire article online for more High vs. Low suggestions from Erin of Elements of Style, Kim of Desire to Inspire, Alissa of The GOODS Design, and the ladies of Remodelista. And a big thank you goes out to Marni Elyse Katz for writing the great article and including us all!

NEO-Tradionalist's Plucky Pioneers

Kate of the NEO-Traditionalist has created a new series called Plucky Pioneers that will feature a "pioneer girl on the design frontier" every Monday. I was very honored when she asked me to be her first participant! You can read my profile on her fabulous blog today and then tomorrow, you can read my "cheat sheet" of my favorite films, flowers, books and more. I think I was supposed to only give one answer per item but I have too many favorites to choose just one! Thanks Kate!

The Inside Source: Top Trends for 2010

I was honored to be asked by eBay's new online magazine, The Inside Source, to weigh in on what I think will be the Top Trends for 2010. And even more honored to be included with my friend and fellow interior designer, Grant K. Gibson, and Joy Deangdeelert Cho who writes the fabulous blog Oh Joy! We also chose items from eBay that represented the trends and these gorgeous French chairs were on my list. I think someone should snap them up! You can also check out what I am selling on eBay under my seller name Mistral418! Happy Shopping!

Lonny: Issue 2

The second issue of Lonny premiered today and I have to say that I think it's even better than the first and not just because I'm in it! I owe a big thanks to Michelle Adams for asking me to share my 10 favorite things and to Patrick Cline for taking my photo. And a big thank you goes out to my bachelorette client for letting us take it in her kitchen! Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you!

I was very honored to be asked by the editor of Amica magazine in Singapore to write a first person account of how blogging has changed my life. I was even more honored when I found out that past contributors to the column have included Diane von Furstenberg, Barbara Tfank, Fiona Kotur, and Temple St. Clair. Diane von Furstenberg has inspired me tremendously over the years with her life story and fabulous positive attitude so I find it extremely humbling to now be inspiring others myself. Blogging has been one of the best things to happen to my life and I will always be thankful for everything it has brought into my life including my loyal readers like you! More importantly, I really hope that everyone finds what it is that will change their world for the better and make them happy!

The Evolution of Design Panel

There are so many exciting design events coming up at the D&D Building next week for Fall Market including one that involves me! I was very honored to be asked by The Editor at Large to take part in the October 7th 9:00am Keynote panel discussion, Evolution of Design, along with Michael Bruno of 1stdibs, and interior designers and bloggers, Jonathan Adler, James Andrew and Brad Ford. I hope all my friends and readers will come out for what I know will be a fun and lively morning! Definitely check out the schedule for other wonderful showroom events and book signings too! All events are open to the public not just the trade!

Williams-Sonoma Home Designer Series

I am beyond excited and thrilled to one of the designers featured in the new Williams-Sonoma Home Designer Series! I'm also more than a little humbled to be in company of the inaugural group that includes the venerable designers Carolyne Roehm and Alexa Hampton, as well the uber talented Monelle Totah and Kirsty Williams from Williams-Sonoma Home. I enjoyed reading their design advice and I hope you enjoy reading mine too! I owe a big thank you to the kind folks at Williams-Sonoma Home who've been great supporters of me and my blog and also to my photographer Jonathan Ragle for his great portrait photo! And of course, a big thank you to all my loyal readers and friends for whom I write my blog everyday! Your continued encouragement means the world to me! Merci beaucoup!

Fashionably Chic

I just found out that Habitually Chic was named one of StyleClone's Top 100 Fashion Blogs! As a fashion obsessed New Yorker, I find this quite exciting and I am thrilled to be ranked number 52! Of course, this isn't as fabulous as Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge and her mother Judy's spread in the back of the August 2009 issue of Vogue. (Click here to see.) But I'll take what I can get and keep dreaming of Vogue. Maybe I should stop eating now just in case!

Thank you!

I owe a big thank you to interior designer Charlotte Moss for featuring me on her blog Tete-a-Tete last month! I was very excited to buy the neoclassical cachepot I spotted in her Chic Garden Shed at the Housing Works Design on a Dime event and one of her employees recognized me and snapped my photo. Ms. Moss also mentioned that she reads my blog daily and I couldn't be more humbled!

We have some great local television shows that focus on what's going on in New York including Cool in Your Code. They recently interviewed me for their online feature, Around the Blog, where you can read more about my favorite places in New York. Thanks!

Blogtrepreneur

I want to send a big thank you to Blogtrepreneur for including Habitually Chic in their list of the 100 Must Read Blogs...by Women! The site also gives great advice for bloggers and online entrepreneurs so now it's one of my must read sites! Thanks Blogtrepreneur!

Thanks House Beautiful!

I owe House Beautiful another big thank you for including Habitually Chic as one of the sites they love. And another thank you goes out to Amy Claire Preiser for writing it up! Check out Sites We Love on House Beautiful here. (Oh, let's all make sure we support House Beautiful so they're not next on the list of shelter magazines we loved but are no longer with us!)

Hometown Love!

I want to thank Mackenzie Carpenter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for including me in her story on design blogs today! It was a real honor and treat to be featured in my hometown newspaper (well, almost hometown)! I've already sent my father out for multiple copies! And a big thank you also goes to her sister Mary Chapin Carpenter who turned her on to my blog!

Part of my plan for the new year is to post more original content and to profile interesting and creative people who aren't yet on everyone's radar. I have been running around the last few days so I wasn't able to post one of the newest today so check back on Wednesday to be introduced to an up and coming interior designer!
