Jason Wu for Canvas Collaboration

When I first heard about the collaboration between fashion designer Jason Wu and the home brand Canvas, I was a little surprised.  Jason Wu seems so glamorous and uptown while Canvas is a more rustic British brand.  But the results I saw on Vogue.com this morning are beyond beautiful.  I love the nod to Jacques Adnet with the brass accents and thin legs and the lace pillow needs to be in every fashionable girl's home.  I personally still need some side tables for my apartment so those might be what I purchase from this collection. The prices don't seem to be too crazy either. It's clear that even though it didn't seem to make sense at first, Jason Wu and Canvas are a perfect pairing.

In the Mood for Fashion Week

Today is the beginning of Fall 2012 Fashion Week in New York.  As you know, one of my favorite aspects besides the runway shows and actually viewing the clothes is seeing the designer's mood boards full of inspiration.  Jason Wu just posted his on tumblr and it already has me excited for his fall collection and all the upcoming shows.  Happy Fashion Week!

Wu Hoo!

While the rest of us are preparing for the holidays, fashion designers are presenting their Pre-Fall collections for 2012.  Jason Wu always shows lovely ladylike looks and it's even more fun to view his fashions after seeing his mood board. above  I can't always afford his beautiful dresses so I'm beyond excited for his Jason Wu for Target collection that will debut in February.  Wu Hoo!

NYFW: Jason Wu Spring 2011

The weather in New York has just turned cool enough to start wearing fall clothes but the runway at fashion week is all about spring.  One of my favorite shows from Day 2 was Jason Wu.  He's the darling of the fashion world and by the look of this collection, rightly so.  I love the tailored shorts and trousers as well as his signature pretty dresses.  Jason has also created a line of shoes and handbags that complete the look.  He said he "looked to the seventies and forties, and the vivid floral paintings of the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes" for inspiration which inspired the bright colors and patterns.  I'm so glad we have these gorgeous clothes to look forward to after the upcoming winter!

Wu Hoo!

Jason Wu has been the darling of the fashion world since Michelle Obama wore one of his gowns to the inaugural balls last January and rightly so since it's wonderfully talented. That also makes him on of the favorites of Vogue so it's not surprising that he recently had his new showroom designed by Anna Wintour's interior designer. The husband and wife duo of Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller of Carrier and Company worked with architect Giancarlo Valle on the 9,000 square foot space in the Garment District.

I thought the walls were covered with newspaper but it's actually New York Observer collage wallpaper by Elizabeth Dow.

Jason's office contains works by Rene Gruau, Christophe Morlinghaus, Thomas Libetti, and Sam Frost and a chandelier from Ochre. The reception area has another work by Christophe Morlinghaus.

I love the mirror in this other view of the reception area.

The dining room features a print from Jason's 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund feature in Vogue magazine.

Jason Wu is a very busy designer! He has already debuted a line of sunglasses and has also designed dolls and a digital camera and will design a small capsule collection for TSE Cashmere this summer. I'm sure shoes and handbags won't be far behind!

According to Jason, stores based on the showroom design might also be on the horizon. It's nice to see good things happen to good people and wonderful designers. For more about this 27 year old wunderkind, check out the March issue of W Magazine.
