Lady Luxe

While we're on the subject of Mario Testino, how chic is this "Lady Luxe" spread he shot for the March issue of British Vogue. Let's not get caught up on the fact that model Karlie Kloss seems to be floating or falling in every picture.  If you lived in a place that spectacular, you wouldn't want to sit on the furniture either. It was actually the decor that first caught my eye.  I was very excited that they gave the designer Lorenzo Castillo credit.  We'll take a closer look at his work tomorrow. It deserves a day unto itself.  Later skaters.

Molto Mario

I love the opportunity to peek into the homes of people whom I admire.  As my photography hobby becomes more important in my life, I am always looking at the work of others as inspiration.  Mario Testino is a photographer who is not only talented but seems to really enjoy himself as witnessed in The September Issue.  His new home in the Hollywood Hills not only reflects his lust for life but also his world travels.  Mario Testino grew up in Peru and many of the textiles come from his home country and complement his amazing art collection.  As is the case with many creative people, he didn't work with a designer and therefore the entire space feels incredibly personal.  It certainly doesn't hurt that the light is amazing in Los Angeles which is why he kept the walls white.  To see more, pick up the March 2012 issue of Vogue or click here

The Fashion Royal Wedding

It may not have been held in Westminster Abbey but the wedding of Kate Moss to Jamie Hince was no less royal.  They had the same photographer, Mario Testino, but unlike the other Kate, this one made the cover of the coveted September issue of Vogue.  It was a surprisingly elegant affair which was Kate's plan according to her mum, “Kate wanted something elegant—not what people thought she might do.”  All of fashion royalty attended including Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and Naomi Campbell among others.  Looks like brides everywhere will have beautiful new inspiration for their upcoming nuptials. Mazel tov!

Kids and the City

This week has me behind on everything including my magazine reading.  I can't wait to take a break tomorrow to leaf through the August issue of Vogue with Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover.  I love the photos of her and her family by Mario Testino in what may or may not be her home.  Reminds me a little of Halston's old townhouse.  Regardless, it's clear that SJP has transitioned from Sex and the City to the chicest soccer mom ever.

Update: One of my alerted me to the fact that the house in the spread belongs to a friend of SJP and is located in Chelsea.  Just have to find out who owns it now!

Elegant Emma

I spent all day yesterday styling for my Microsoft event and today will be hosting press all day and a fabulous party tonight.  I look forward to seeing many of you there and will be of course posting picture soon.  Until then, I leave you with this gorgeous photos of Emma Watson from the new issue of Vogue.  Little Hermione Granger is so grown up that I almost didn't recognize her!

Chic at Maxim's

I'm busy working today so for right now, I'm leaving you with these beautiful photos of Anne Hathaway from Vogue.  They were shot by Mario Testino at Maxim's in Paris and make her look like a French Holly Golightly.  I still don't have the November issue yet but you can see more photos and read the interview at Vogue.com.  A tout à l'heure!
